The ASARM app is designed to support the recovery of young people with fatigue-related conditions, such as ME/CFS and long COVID.
On the day of your clinic appointment, your healthcare clinician will help you set up the app in three simple steps. Firstly, your clinician will register you as a user. Secondly, you will be asked to scan a QR code on the clinician’s portal screen. Thirdly, on the app, you will be asked to navigate to ‘Settings’ and select ‘Link with ASARM’. This establishes the link between the app and the clinician’s portal.
Your clinician will explain concepts such as energy management, boom and bust, and incremental pacing to support your understanding of the app, making it easier to use.
You will be asked to log all your tasks over a 24-hour period for two weeks, establishing your diary. This will provide your clinician with the data they need to devise a treatment plan and recommend the number of hours of activity, rest, and sleep you need.
Useful features of the app include a teacher’s note that you can show your teacher to explain why you need access to your phone and notifications reminding you to update your diary.
Along with support from your healthcare clinician, the ASARM app will provide you with the tools to manage your fatigue-related symptoms and improve your quality of life.
